ngs up. From house parties to local watering holes to dance clubs … we covered it all. I got to meet Bridget’s friends, mingle among the locals and test out my kiwi dance moves. Rowan and Bridget were on a mission to find me a kiwi boyfriend so that I would stay, but alas, the only men who bought me drinks were the forty-something bartender and a silly Irishman who was fascinated with my short thumbs. I argue there are other reasons to stay in New Zealand anyhow.
Tired from the beach, but determined prepare a delicious meal for my hosts, I posted up in the kitchen and threw together some shrimp tacos and spanish rice. Bridget and Rowan gave the meal a 10. My tummy is pretty happy as well. Now all that’s left to do is shower up, organize my pack and head to bed in preparation for the next lag of my trip … Australia. This week has gone so fast, but it’s been nothing short of wonderful. The land is incredible. The people are friendly. The animals are harmless. Hanging out with “Midge” all week has been refreshing. She’s helped to remind me of who I was, challenged my idea of who I am and listened to my visions of who I want to be. We’ve blasted old camp songs from the mountain tops, galloped around lakeside trails and embarrassed ourselves in public on numerous occasions. We truly do bring out the best in each other. I will look forward to the next Ninja and Midge adventure.
Thank you Bridget. Thank you Rowan. Thank you sun. Thank you waves. Thank you sheep. Thank you New Zealand. It’s been a blast, I hope to see you again.
Day 9,536. Oz, here I come.
