Here I am, on the road again.

When one door closes another one opens.  True.  However, that doesn’t always mean that you should walk through door number two right away.  With any significant life change I’m a strong advocate of giving yourself time.  Time to think.  Time to reflect.  Time to appreciate. Time to celebrate.  Having made the decision to leave Corporate America, it was inevitable that I would be embarking on an adventure of some sort.

Upon negotiating my end date, I had eleven days to work with.  Eleven days.  Initially I scoured the internet for a last minute volunteer opportunity abroad.  As expected deadlines had passed, programs were booked and flights we no longer affordable. Returning to Guatemala to entertain orphans, drink copious amounts of Gallo and dance the night away in a straw hut wasn’t an option (this time).

So there it was.  Plan B.  Travel to as many states, visit as many friends and experience as much as possible in eleven days.  Starting from the music venues of Duluth, ending upon the busy streets of NYC.  Mornings at the yoga studio, nights posted up at the dive bar.  Reuniting with old friends, meeting new ones along the way.  Plan B.  A perfect way to shake off the corporate  dust and prepare myself to walk through door number two.

Day 9,990.  There I go, turn the page.
