Santa Fe: 391 miles

Friday morning at 9AM it was off to Vital Yoga in the Highlands. The result a sirsasana fail. We tried. The weekend was sure to produce better results. Angie was off to Evergreen, CO to hang with Laura and I was headed south once again. The destination, New Mexico.

The drive, powered by salmon jerky, delivered picturesque views of the west, an amazing sunset and a sub-par Mexican feast. Upon arriving at 9:30PM it was off to the plaza to unwind. A single 12oz porter and some awkward people watching did the trick. Within the first two hours I could tell that my first trip to Santa Fe was going to be alright.

From tromping through ancient ruins to weaving our way through art galleries, the weekend delivered the perfect mix of outdoors, culture and relaxation. The pace of New Mexico was just what I needed, slow and easy. The downtown area offered food, art and history while the surrounding area left a lot to explore. We opted out of investigating the atomic history of the region, but embraced the rest. Overall, here are some of the highlights:

Day 10,216. I could get used to New Mexico.
