More Petaluma: 0 miles

Yesterday morning I made my way to SFO to pick up Dave.  When I pulled up to terminal three, there he stood – left hand on hip, bulging chest and a large grin on his face.  I think he calls it his sexy pose.  Sure.  We grabbed coffee, filled Angie’s tank and made our way back to Petaluma.

The original plan was to head to the city for the evening, but as 4PM rolled around we were too satisfied with our surroundings, the sunshine and where we thought evening could take us. In Petaluma we would remain.

Shortly after 5PM Dave’s uncle Greg joined us, at his own house. How convenient. My original plan was to lay off of the bottle for the evening, but it was clear that Greg and I were not on the same page.  Before I knew it there were two empty Corona Lights in front of me and another one on deck.  You can’t win them all.

From there the night began to unfold.  With two Perlove’s in the room, there was no need for any other form of entertainment.  Angie and I sat back and left it to Dave and Greg to guide the conversation.  What a novel idea. From politics to spirituality.  From drugs to new beginnings. From lust to finances. The conversations were engaging and thought provoking.  The manner in which they were delivered, fucking hilarious. Here are a few samples from the quote book:

  • “If you’re going to put yourself in your friends shoes, make sure you step into the good shoe. Not the one full of shit” ~ Greg
  •  “I don’t know what I look like, I don’t know if chicks think I’m attractive, but judging by that pic I’d say I’m a ten for sure.” ~ Dave
  • “I piss on republicans and puke on democrats” ~ Greg
  • “You don’t know dick? Well then you can fuck yourself” ~ Greg
  • “Tacos and titties, my two favorite things” ~ Dave
  • “Curiosity killed the cat, but the cat had nine lives.  You just have to find your inner cat.” ~ Greg

Angie and I got a few words in, but there were hardly as memorable.  We’ll step it up next time.
