Saturday morning we headed south to San Francisco. First stop, Cozy Castro Castle where Dennis Peron would be hosting us for the evening. By the time we got settled there was no time for shenanigans. We were off to Mountain View for the Bridge School Benefit Concert.
Dave had a hard-on for Steve Martin (direct quote). Angie was introduced to Ray Lamontagne. Leanne enjoyed Sarah McLachlan’s expressive stage faces. I was swept by Jack White. Overall, everyone put on a good show. When we left the venue my toes felt like ice blocks and the socks upon my hands were no longer serving their purpose. Yes, Yoopers can get cold, but it was worth it. Thank you Neil and Peggy Young.
Yesterday was one hell of a Sunday. The morning started with a broken car window and a stolen backpack. After a few phone calls we decided there was no sense in stressing about something we couldn’t control. Off to Elixer for their elaborate bloody mary bar. I made mine with a splash of horseradish and extra olives. Angie trusted the house recipe. Dave threw in every damn ingredient he could find, including bacon. We were all satisfied.
The rest of the afternoon does not deserve commentary. For those of you who know us well just imagine a typical day with P-Love and two Cherrettie’s. Add a matinee, a little whiskey, an awkward stop at Chuck-E-Cheese, and lost car keys. That should paint a pretty good picture. By some miracle, we got Dave to the airport on time, but from what we hear he had a bit of trouble getting on the plane. At 1:30AM we were informed that he had finally landed. Better late than never.
Day 10,230. Off to Harbin Hot Springs.
