Forever Paisley

I made it safely to Guatemala City and am now waiting for a bus to Quetzaltenango (“Xela”). The trip out went well, I was seated between and Austrian and Italian who were traveling as tourists. The Austrian got in a fight with the flight attendant because he didnt want to put his bag overhead. I was picked up at the airport and stayed with a woman named Gilda and her two daughters Paola (14) and Daniella (11). Gilda takes in travelers a lot and was very hospitable. The girls seemed very curious and it was nice to get direct exposure to the culture.

The area is beautiful mountain, volcanoes, and trees everywhere. The people are very friendly and seem to be very happy. I get to go hiking in a couple of days … I will of coure take a lot of pictures 🙂
