Well I am not quite in Europe, but I have made it to a French speaking province of Canada. My flight from Chicago was delayed due to thunderstorms causing me to miss my flight to London. I take that back, I didn’t miss my flight, I made it to the gate ten minutes before departure to find out that they had already sold my seat to a standby. Out of frustration, if you had asked me at that moment, I would have denied every drop of French-Candian blood in my body!
It is a bit ironic really. They sold my seat in order to maximize their profits in the case that I was unable to make the flight; however in the end they are paying for my hotel, meals, and transportation. Guess they didn’t win after all.
I am now in a hotel in Montreal – and will be arriving in London at 9:30PM tomorrow (3:30 Michigan time – I think?) A bit bummed about missing a whole day as I was only going to be in the London area for two, but I will play super tourist and try to get the most out of it while I am there. In the case that I don’t, I guess I will just have to go back another time!!!
Hope all is well in the states – Canada is awesome (yes, that was sarcastic!).
